Artisans and the Weaving Tour

April 28, 2011

Today was a final meeting with the group that will teach Backstrap Weaving to our Weaving Tour members. This is the first time these women have taught classes and they are so excited and pleased to do the teaching! These women are so amazing in their skills of backstrap weaving — the many different patterns and techniques– that we are pleased to have them do the teaching for this tour group.

Our other groups will do demonstrations on tinting yarn with plants, vegetables and barks— tinta natural;

weaving with a foot pedal loom and

also a demonstration on weaving with jaspe, also known as Ikat.

Be sure to follow our blog or Facebook page for updates on the tour and the weaving classes!
