Building Businesses and Friendships

We love spending extra special time with our artisans and on a recent trip to Guatemala we took one of our groups to Quetzaltenango for a yarn buying trip to the large yarn store.

Excitement was high for days until we finally loaded the van and drove over 2 hours through winding mountain roads with hair pin curves to reach Quetzaltengo.  Many of the women in this group rarely leave their village so this was a real treat for them.

The store is small with hundreds or maybe thousands of skeins of yarn from the floor clear up to the ceiling.  We all enjoyed picking out colors and yarn types for new projects and designs.

After completing our purchases we headed to lunch with all the women in agreement to go to Pollo Campero — a favorite in Guatemala.

Time for lunch!

Loading up the van once again we headed home in a quiet van…………….. naps abounded!

Time for a nap after a long day of shopping!

What a great day of friendship and relationship building as we also build businesses together.  I am not sure who enjoyed the day more — the artisans or the Education And More directors!
