Join Our Volunteers

Come on board and join our growing community of volunteers dedicated to helping educate children and reducing poverty in the Lake Atitlan area of Guatemala.  What can you do to help?

Host a Guatemalan fiesta of fair trade handcrafts in your home or at your church.  All the dollars you raise will help us educate children in addition to giving the artisan an income that will help her feed her family.  Email us for more information. We have just received a shipment of handcrafts and weavings from Guatemala and will have them online in a couple of weeks.  We received stunning jewelry – necklaces, earrings, bracelets; beautiful ceramic crosses, coffee mugs, piggy banks and more; handwoven and embroidered pillow covers, shawls, scarves, tablecloths and much more.  We will have lots more when we return from Guatemala  the first part of May.

Another option  is to help us locate used or new computers.  Email your friends, check with the company that you work for—just pass the word! Let’s find as many computers as we can to help the schools and the children.  One volunteer located some bi-lingual children’s computers for us which is a wonderful gift because most of the children in the schools we work with will learn Spanish when they go to school.  Their native tongue is a Mayan dialect — Kakchiquel or T’zutuhil.

One volunteer is teaching her daughters to sew and they are making tote bags for school supplies.  They plan to get their Sunday School involved by collecting school supplies to fill the bags!

However you help it is a great blessing to the children and their families! Check out our website and email us for more information!
