Weavers of San Juan La Laguna

Recently I found an article which explains in more detail the process of  dyeing yarn with natural plant tints.  The article is in the Revue Magazine archives and can be read  here. This is really an involved and time consuming process and shows the dedication of the women involved to continue their traditions and produce weavings that are naturally beautiful!

We visited several of the women’s weaving groups while in San Juan la Laguna in July and have a lot of their weavings on our website.  These naturally dyed yarns are so indicative of the natural surroundings Guatemala.  Enjoy the article!
